Melbourne Light Rail Station, 2013, Houston, Texas, Dimensions vary. Terrazzo, vinyl and glass, laser cut and etched steel. Budget: 50,000. Commissioned by Houston Metro. Design of this station celebrated the various cultures that built the city of Houston and included design of fence, platform and windscreens. Each windscreen panel or tile is inspired by art from the many cultures that formed Houston.

I used images from manufacturing and industry in the windscreens with the circular pattern in the platform that emphasizes the use of the wheel in industrial machinery. In the parking lot, glass panels illustrating the history of printed fabrics were created in the manufacturing process. Commissioned by Dallas Area Rapid Transit.
